How it works
A few minutes of setup. After that it just works while you read.
Download
Pick your language pair and the file for your device. It’s free. No account, no email address.
Copy it over
Copy the file to your e-reader or import it into your app. The install guides show every step.
Tap any word
Long-press a word in your book. You see the translation, the grammar and the base form right on the page.
Made for reading
Many free e-reader dictionaries are word lists that only know the base form. Books are full of other forms: fjorden, went, leurs. Our dictionaries are built from real texts, so the word exactly as it appears on the page leads you to the right entry.
Each entry gives the translation, the part of speech and the forms of the word. It is kept short so that it fits into the small pop-up of an e-reader.
Written by AI, so read with a little care
The entries were created with AI language models and checked automatically, partly by a second, larger model. Most of them are right. Some are wrong or incomplete. Use the dictionary as a reading companion. When something looks odd, a printed dictionary or a native speaker has the last word.
